Fiberglass and Sand the Hull

Ghost ship – hull covered with fiberglass sheet.

The fiberglass is coated in epoxy; any wrinkles in the cloth work out without much effort. The weave of the fiberglass still shows through.

After first coat of epoxy the excess fiberglass is trimmed.

After the third coat of epoxy the weave disappears, leaving a fairly smooth surface.

Now to get rid of that beautiful shine. The hull is sanded smooth, any breaks in the fiberglass will need to be repaired.

The trick is to sand it smooth, without completely sanding through the fiberglass.
